Training is a stupid waste of money if... 

According to James MacNeil, Director of Training for The Performance Training Institute, there are six pitfalls to successful training programs:

  1. Ineffective facilitators
  2. Incongruent philosophy, values, and beliefs
  3. Wacky training methodologies
  4. Focus on incorrect competencies
  5. Insufficient application to real-time work
  6. Lack of program follow-up
My comment: Amen, brother. I try and avoid these when my consulting works requires workshops and seminars. And you should avoid these when looking to hire a training partner!
